Afterlife

When the light is fading slow
And the darkness starts to show
Every thing we did goes by
As the memories start to die

And the world begins to fade
Like a ghost who lost its way
Is all that we have done now lost
Or is there hope waiting for us all

When our bodies collapse to the ground
And the smiles become a frown
Is there hope up in the sky
When its time for us to die

When our families are asking why
Will our soul be climbing high
Will the stars still shine their light
Is there an afterlife

When the pain is finally gone
Will there be peace all along
Will i watch the world go by
Will i see the people cry

I long to understand
The pain that shapes my hand
Was there a reason for it all
Or are we all just doomed to fall

When the silence fills the room
And the flowers start to bloom
Will we wake beyond the night
In a place of endless light

When the tears begin to fall
Will love still remain through it all
Will the stars still shine their light
Is there an afterlife

If there’s a door beyond the pain
Will it open when we call
If every tear became the rain
Would it wash away it all

I’m not asking for forever
Just a reason to believe
