Music From The Year

A new year has started and a new me begins
A time where the cold that i long for to end
I set forward the goals of the year
And try to let go of all of my fears

January opens a door i've never seen,
To a thousand possibilities of who i could be.

A thousand new mountains are waiting to climb
I'll face every storm and reach for the sky
No matter how hard, i'll continue to try

January's here, and i'm starting anew
With twelve months ahead and so much to do
The past is behind me, my future is bright
This is my year, and i'm ready to fight

The winter winds are blowing through the night
As i search for a way to make things right
The snow keeps falling on the frozen ground
While dreams of tomorrow are waiting to be found

I know this year won't always go my way
But i'll keep moving forward every day
January reminds me there's still time to grow
And so many things about myself i've yet to know

Thirty-one days to begin something new
Thirty-one chances to see it through
The road may be long and the future unclear
But i won't let my doubts take control of this year

I made my promises, now i'll see what they bring
Even in winter, my heart wants to sing
The first chapter closes, but this isn't the end
There's another tomorrow just around the bend

The days of january are fading away
But the dreams that i started are here to stay
One month behind me, eleven to go
There's still so much more of myself i will know

The calendar turns and a new page appears
Another new chapter, another month's here
January's ending, but my journey's not through
February is waiting with something brand new
